100 ships deployed for monsoon emergencies


LAHORE:

Punjab’s emergency service (Rescue 1122) is on a maximum alert to respond to any unpleasant situation during the ongoing emergencies of the monsoon and floods, said the Secretary of Emergency Services, Dr. Rizwan Naseer, when heading to a press conference.

He said that the units of response to 1322 rescue floods, which include more than 100 boats, 312 trained rescuers, OBM motors and emergency equipment, have been deployed in vulnerable and low areas throughout the province.

Dr. Naseer urged citizens to monitor roofs and surroundings during the rain to avoid the loss of lives or properties due to water accumulation.

He said that 1,594 people have been rescued during the current rain spell.
