A total of 78 Pakistani, including 47 students, returned to Pakistan today through the Taftan border, which increases the total number of repatriated citizens to 1,200.
Pakistani citizens, who mainly comprise pilgrims, were stranded in Iran due to the ongoing conflict of Israel-Iran.
According to Express News, during the last two days, 987 pilgrims and students have been brought safely. The returnees have traveled in 37 buses, and many more are expected to return soon.
Levies sources confirmed that returnees include merchants, students and pilgrims. Continuous repatriation is being managed in the house of Pakistan, where all the necessary facilities that arrive from Iran have been provided.
The Taftan administration assured that the process continues without problems and that the additional returnees will accommodate in the next few days.
In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA), in close coordination with the Iraqi respiratory tract, successfully facilitated the repatriation of Pakistani nationals before Monday through two special flights from Basora to Karachi and Islamabad. Both flights have safely arrived in Pakistan.
The Ministry remains actively committed to Iraqi Airways and other relevant Iraqi authorities to guarantee the safe and timely return of the remaining Pakistani Zaireen in Iraq, Mocha said in a statement.
It is recommended to all the Pakistani Zaireen currently in Iraq who remain in close contact with the Pakistan embassy in Baghdad, Mandoobs designated and their respective airlines for timely updates on their travel arrangements, the statement added.
Currently, Iraqi Airways is operating daily flights on the Basora route to Dubai. On Monday, some Pakistani citizens took advantage of this option.
Those interested in traveling through this route are encouraged to communicate with the nearest office of Iraqi Airways for reservation and assistance, Mofa said.
Everyone is advised even more to remain prepared to travel in the short term.
The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to monitor the situation closely and remains totally committed to facilitating the safe and orderly return of all Pakistani Zaireen, reads in the statement.
