$124,788,255 in XRP stuns world’s largest exchange Binance by PakGazette

PakGazette – Prominent blockchain tracking service Whale Alert, which monitors large cryptocurrency transfers and shares the details on its website and official X account, has detected a huge amount of XRP landing on the world’s leading exchange, Binance.

Meanwhile, the third-largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization, XRP, has seen an impressive surge exceeding 12%.

40,000,000 XRP transferred to Binance

The aforementioned data aggregator shows that less than four hours ago, Binance witnessed a huge deposit totaling 40,000,000 XRP, valued at a staggering $124,788,255. The transaction was initiated by an unknown blockchain address.

The cryptocurrency community reacted by leaving numerous comments below the tweet. Many have taken this large XRP transfer as a bullish sign.

However, data shared by XRP-focused explorer Bithomp shows that the anonymous wallet, which carried out the XRP transfer, was linked to the Binance exchange. Therefore, the probability is high that this is simply an internal transfer, as Binance reorganized its XRP holdings and distributed them among new wallets.

XRP Soars, Following New ATH

Meanwhile, today, Monday, January 20, the price of XRP has demonstrated an astonishing jump, rising over 12%. The third largest cryptocurrency rose from $2.92 to the $3.29 price level. By now, the price has dropped a bit and the coin is changing hands at $3.25.

That price surge came after the 9.21% drop that XRP faced on Sunday. However, today, XRP, along with the rest of the cryptocurrency market, followed Bitcoin’s trajectory. The world’s leading cryptocurrency soared to a new all-time high of $109,114, reached two hours ago.

CTO reacts to Gensler’s departure from the SEC

Over the weekend, Ripple Chief Technology Officer (CTO) David Schwartz commented on Gary Gensler’s departure from the US Securities and Exchange Commission office on Friday. He responded to a tweet from an XRP enthusiast; The latter asked whether the community should expect a new “crypto hater” now that Gensler is gone or not.

Schwartz responded that this is not necessarily the case, and that the new “crypto enemy” may never appear, and in that case, cryptocurrency fans may start attacking each other. Ripple’s CTO warned the XRP community not to do that, saying it’s worth saving energy to fight a new enemy if it ever appears.
