Dera Ismail Khan:
At least 13 members of the same family, including five women and a child, were killed in a tragic road accident on Friday after the brakes of their vehicle failed near Danazinda, on the road that links Dera Ismail Khan with Quetta.
The family was traveling from Khanazai, Baluchistan, Di Khan, when his vehicle was out of control due to the failure of the brake and overturned. Rescue officials 1122 said 13 people died on the spot, while three others suffered wounds.
The deceased included Darya Khan, 27, Ahmed, and Yousaf, 10. Rescue teams moved seven bodies to the hospital, while the locals helped transport another six. The injured received first aid before being transferred to the Hospital of the District headquarters in Di Khan.
After the tragedy, the bodies were delivered to the relatives after medical-legal formalities. Later, the victims were buried in their ancestral cemetery after the funeral prayers attended by a large number of mourners.
Rescue officials confirmed that the accident was caused by the brake failure, a common danger in the mountain section of the road that connects Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa with Baluchistan.
