Eighteen Universities of Pakistan have secured places in the 2026 edition of the Classification of the World University of QS, published by the Higher Education Analysis Firm based in the United Kingdom Quaccalli Symonds (QS).
The classifications include more than 1,500 institutions from more than 100 countries, which makes it one of the most prestigious global evaluations in universities.
The Quaid-E-Azam University, Islamabad, remains the best classified institution of Pakistan, located in 354 worldwide.
It is followed by the National University of Sciences and Technology (Nust), tied in 371.
Other institutions in the Top 600 include the University of Punjab in 542 and Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) in 555.
The QS classifications evaluate universities in several indicators, including academic reputation, employer’s reputation, student faculty relationship, quotes by faculty, international presence of students and faculty and the performance of sustainability.
