A bomb explosion near a police truck in the Quetta double road area killed at least two people and wounded 17 people of whom included four police officers, according to local authorities.
Police said the explosion caused damage to the police vehicle, as well as nearby cars and motorcycles. Rescue teams quickly arrived at the scene and transported the injured to a local hospital.
A Baluchistan government spokesman confirmed that the security forces had cordoned off the area and that an investigation was underway. No deaths were immediately reported.
No group has assumed the responsibility of the incident so far.
Quetta, the capital of the province of Baluchistan, has frequently seen attacks aimed at security forces amid a broader insurgency in the region.
