- Dolby Atmos comes to Bose and Burmester Premium Porsche Systems
- Also on board: Alexa support and a new application center
- The new hardware offers an improved response capacity
Entertainment in Porsche’s car will improve even more this year’s models, thanks to a significant update that leads Dolby Atmos to the 911 series, Taycan, Panamera and Cayenne.
That is not the only new feature. There is also Amazon Alexa Plus a expanded Porsche Connect package, and the system itself must be even softer in the daily operation.
Porsche is also presenting a new application center, which we saw for the first time at the Macan All-Electric.
What’s new in the 2025 model porsches?
Porsche calls its infotainment system Porsche Communication Management, or PCM for abbreviation (yes, a bit confusing for those of us in the modulation of audio and high -resolution pulse code, but we move on). The new model year brings updated hardware, and comes with ten years from Porsche Connect “to guarantee a reliable digital user experience.”
One of the big changes is the application center, which works in the same way as family stores of telephone and tablet applications. Depending on the market (not all application manufacturers offer their products worldwide), you can add applications to transmit music and podcasts, applications for weather forecasts and news, and even games and karaoke applications. Porsche says that there will also be intelligent start applications that allow him to control his home when he is on the road.
Another great update is Alexa’s addition to the existing Porsche voice pilot. You can activate it with Alexa’s activation word, with a button or one of the PCM icons. Alexa will be available in the United States, the United Kingdom, Ireland, Austria, Germany, France, Italy, Spain and Canada.
And then there is Dolby Atmos. For the first time, the cars with the Premium and high -end audio systems of Bose and Burmester will have Dolby Atmos, and will be compatible with applications with atmosphere of the Application Center. Is it dropped just in the middle of an album while driving a Porsche? Yes please.
The updated PCM will be in distributed vehicles from June 2025, and those vehicles can now be requested.
