Three university basketball players of Division I were permanently prohibited from the NCAA on Wednesday for allegedly betting on their own games.

Mykell Robinson, Steven Vásquez and Jalen Weave have been revoked their eligibility after the NCAA infractions committee published findings determined by the players betting on the competitions in which they competed in the state of Fresno and the state of San José, and were able to share thousands of dollars in payments.

The three athletes were released from their respective teams and are no longer registered in their previous schools. No school was punished.

The NCAA declared that the three players bet on the games of others and/or provided information that allowed others to do so during the regular season 2024-25 and that two of them even manipulated their performances to ensure that certain bets were won.

The NCAA said that a sports integrity monitoring service in January notified the state of Fresno and the NCAA compliance staff that a Nevada sports book operator had marked suspicious bets on Robinson. The investigation began a week later.

Fresno State said he voluntarily cooperated with the NCAA.

“The University proactively shared information reported on the activity of sports bets with the NCAA and worked in collaboration with the NCAA staff throughout the investigation,” the school said in a statement. “While the consequences of eligibility for the former athletes students are significant, the case finally resulted in a level III/secondary violation and without sanctions for the institution. The university continues to have confidence in the culture of athletics of the state of Fresno and is grateful to conclude this matter.”

The state of San José said that he was aware of the decision and that Vásquez was already eliminated from the list.

According to NCAA, Robinson and Vásquez had been fourth partners in the state of Fresno during the 2023-24 season. In January 2025, Robinson, who was still in the state of Fresno, and Vásquez, then in the state of San José, discussed the text message that Robinson planned to have a lower performance in several statistical categories during a regular seasonal game. Robinson also made multiple bets in Weaver, his teammate in the state of Fresno in 2024-25, found the NCAA.

During a game, Robinson, Vásquez and a third bet $ 2,200 combined in Robinson to have a lower yield, and a payment of $ 15,950 was redistributed among those who had bet, said the NCAA.

During that same season, Robinson placed 13 daily fantasy and sub-line fantasy line support bets for a total of $ 454 in Parlays that included their own performance. He collected $ 618 on one occasion.

Robinson made multiple bets in Weaver, including two bets made before a game at the end of December 2024 after he and Weaver exchanged information about their respective betting lines, said the NCAA. Weaver also made an accessory bet of $ 50 in a parla for him, Robinson and a third athlete, and won $ 260.
