4th anniversary of death bhat pays bright tribute to Geelani

The leader of Senior Hurriyat and the president of the Salvation Movement of Jammir Cashmira (JKSM), Altaf Ahmed Bhat, has paid tribute to rich to the legendary leader of Kashmir, Syed Ali Shah Geelani, on her fourth anniversary of death, greeting her lifetime struggle and her unwavering position for the freedom of Jamm and Kashma.

Bhat said that Geelani’s entire life dedicated himself to the cause of the liberation of Kashmir and his annexation for Pakistan, which he saw how the end of the unfinished agenda of the partition.

“Gelalani’s slogan ‘Hum Pakistani Hain Aur Pakistan Hamara Hai,” continues to inspire and strengthen the spirit of resistance between the people of Jammu and Kashmir, “he said in a statement. When describing it as an incarnation of the resistance of Kashmir, Bhat added that Geelani was more than a political figure.

“For decades, he endured imprisonment, domestic arrests and implacable persecution, but never hesitate his foot with Pakistan and demanding the right of self -determination for his people,” he said.

He said that Geelani’s speeches, writings and sacrifices lit an awareness that still feeds the cashmere movement today. Even before severe restrictions during his last years, Geelani remained a symbol of courage, integrity and an uncompromising voice for freedom, he added.

Highlighting the current political moment, Bhat emphasized that after the recent victory of Pakistan in the May conflict with India, Islamabad must accelerate its diplomatic efforts and take the opportunity that once provided by the president of the United States, Donald Trump, for mediation in the Kashmir’s dispute.

He said that the inclusion of key back leadership in such conversations is vital, since no solution is not possible without the genuine representatives of the people.

Bhat firmly condemned the continuous imprisonment of superior leaders, including Yasin Malik, Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Dr. Abdul Hameed Fayyaz, Masarath Alam Bhat, as well asa Andrabi, Zaffar Akbar Bhat and others.

He said that these imposing leaders of the fight for the freedom of Kashmiro are being subjected to detention and denial of medical care, which has pushed many of them to serious health crisis.

He particularly pointed out that the intention of the Indian government to convert Yasin Malik’s life imprisonment into a death sentence within jail is nothing less than a political murder.

Such actions, he warned, equals a serious humanitarian tragedy, and must be convicted of the international community. Bhat demanded the immediate and unconditional liberation of all political prisoners, emphasizing that their freedom is essential for any significant and credible peace process.

By reaffirming Geelani’s vision, Bhat urged the UN to intervene and fulfill his long time commitment to grant Kashmir his right to self -determination.
