If you saw the Apple World Developer Conference (WWDC 2025) Keynote Video earlier this week, you may have noticed that all new features reach Apple and Carplay music offers.
Whether you love using your Apple technology with your favorite songs or while driving, there were some notable updates to pay attention. Here, we have outlined five of the best characteristics that reach these areas in iOS 26.
Mix melodies as a professional
Any good DJ knows how to mix a song in another, ensuring that the beats align and one track fades into another so perfectly that it is almost impossible to do so. In iOS 26, Apple Music can now do that for you.
That is thanks to a new feature called Automix, and uses an intelligent analysis of under the interior to choose the “perfect moment” for their songs to pass, combining music without problems when a track ends and the next one begins. Automix replaces Crossfade (who did something similar, although in a much less advanced way), and can be enabled when Apple Music opens in iOS 26.
Apple Music reproduction
Like Spotify wrapped, Apple Music Replay allows you to see your listening habits and see exactly how many hours have spent listening to that guilty pleasure. However, before iOS 26, it can only be accessed as an emerging web view, which did not provide the best experience.
Now it is a native part of the Apple Music application, which means that it is much easier to find and see than before. You will also find a reproduction list of Apple Music Replay at the bottom of the application Start of the application, and this is updated throughout the year to provide the latest statistics and figures.
Custom call tones
Apple has a dedicated call tone section on iTunes; Just touch the tab in the application of the ios store in iOS, then select tones. But if you prefer to create your own custom call tones, the process has always been a bit more involved, which requires that you create a tone of its own call, export it from the Garageband application to your phone, then choose manually in the configuration application.
In iOS 26, that process has been simplified. If you open a call tone in an application as files, you just need to touch the Share button and choose the Use as a call tone. That can reduce some steps, although you still need to create the call tone in the first place.
Carplay is about putting useful controls at your fingertips, all with the aim of not distracting it from the road. That act of fine balance has had a new update in iOS 26 with the addition of widgets and live activities.
Widgets such as the weather forecast and their calendar appointments are now available in their car, and use a compact design that, according to Apple, offers “fast and easy” information. And you will also find live activities in Carplay, showing continuous data such as the flight status, which helps keep it known.
Carplay zoom configuration

It is always important that Carplay’s information has an adequate size for your car’s board, and that has become a little easier in iOS 26 with the addition of Smart Display Zoom. This automatically changes the carplay interface to adapt to the display area of your vehicle (when possible).
In an example given by Apple, Smart Display Zoom shrinks the icons on the screen slightly, which allows an additional row of buttons to be shown. With less sliding, you should be able to get to the information you need a little faster.
