500 tourists saved after Siful Malook Flood

More than 500 tourists were safely rescued on Saturday after a sudden clouds in the upper region of Lake Saiful Malook, specifically in the Kundoreh area, caused sudden floods in nearby currents, which resulted in the closure of the lake access road.

Acting quickly in the directives of Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Prime Minister Ali Amin Gandapur, more than 500 stranded tourists were successfully rescued.

According to the Provincial Tourism Department, the Cloudburst also caused a landslide along Saiful Malook Lake Road in Naran, leaving more than 500 tourists and more than 117 outer jeeps.

Visitors had traveled from several cities from all over the country to the popular tourist destination.

Upon receiving the report, the CM of KP immediately ordered the Secretary of Tourism, Dr. Abdul Samad, who mobilizes all the resources available to guarantee the safe evacuation of trapped tourists. Responding without delay, Dr. Samad instructed the general director of the Kaghan Development Authority (KDA) to lead the rescue efforts.

The authority quickly launched a coordinated rescue operation, successfully relocating all tourists stranded to safe places.

The KP Tourism Department has advised tourists to remain alert during their trips.
