- Infineon’s OC1230 is less than 4 mm^2, smaller than a rice grain
- You can place almost 40 of them in a Nano Sim, the smallest physical sim card
- Infineon says that it could fit in wearables such as glasses or smart rings
Infineon Technologies has presented the smallest ESIM solution that meets GSMA, with dimensions of only 1.8 x 1.6 x 0.4 mm, the Connect consumer OC1230 is smaller than a grain of rice and reduces the space requirements of the printed circuit plate space (PCB).
For the scale, it is also 37 times smaller than the standard Nano Sim of the industry and 130 times smaller than a standard SIM.
The OC1230 admits the provisioning of remote SIM (RSP) and the profiles enabled for multiple (MEP), which allows users to store and manage multiple network operators profiles remotely.
ESIM Ultra Compact Technology
The company states that its ESIM is based on architecture and V8 arm technology of Integrity Guard 32 of Infineon, which offers a 25% gain in the power/performance ratio compared to the existing ESIM.
In addition to 5G connectivity, this ultracompact chip could fit in wearables such as smart watches, glasses or even rings, reduce energy consumption by up to 50%and maintain the lithium battery health of a device over time.
If you still do not have to participate in the madness of ESIM as a user of smartphones of business, I would recommend it if you need to change suppliers without moving problems.
