The repatriation of Afghan refugees continues as the deadline established by the Government has passed, with 944 foreign families, which includes 6,700 people, deported from Pakistan since April 1.
Immigration sources reported that these individuals were transported to the Landi Kotal traffic field, where they underwent the necessary prosecution before being deported through the Torkham border.
Among those deported, 2,874 men, 1,755 women and 2,071 children have returned to Afghanistan.
The repatriation, which began on September 17, 2023, has seen a total of 70,494 Afghan families, representing 469,159 people, return to their homeland.
In addition to deportations, a police repression in Rawalpindi continues, attacking Afghan citizens who reside illegally in the country.
Since the beginning of April, 353 national Afghan have been arrested for lacking valid residence documentation. The authorities have focused on those without residence vouchers (by) and those with expired Afghan citizen cards.
This operation has intensified security measures at the Golra Mor Holding Center, where detained Afghan citizens are being processed for deportation.
The authorities have declared that repression will continue, with more planned operations in the next few days.
Previously, the law enforcement agencies had intensified operations in several cities to facilitate the repatriation of the headlines of the Afghan Card Card (ACC), particularly after the volunteer return period ended.
Many Afghan stores and offices in commercial areas, especially in Peshawar, had remained closed, since companies owned by Afghan citizens closed after EID.
The authorities had also conducted a national reverification campaign, with dozens of Afghan people who have their paquistani identity cards canceled. A great repression was expected after April 11, with arrests that would probably begin soon.
In Rawalpindi, more than 50 Afghan nationals who had ACCS were arrested, they were transferred to temporary camps and were scheduled to be repatriated.
In Karachi, similar operations had taken place, with 162 ACC holders already detained and taken to a tenure installation.
The operation addressed an estimated 16,138 people throughout the country, and the authorities confirm that some people with registration test cards (by) had been released.
The repression was ongoing, with the agencies of application of the law that carried out daily operations to guarantee compliance with the government deportation policy.
