It’s surreal to think that we’re already halfway through February 2026. If time is simply moving too fast for your liking, it might be worth putting your feet up and watching something on one or more of the world’s best streaming services this weekend.
Like last week’s recap, there aren’t a ton of new movies and shows to choose from. However, I’m sure you’ll find something of interest among our top seven picks of the week, including The night agentThe last season among their numbers. Happy streaming! – Tom Power, Senior Entertainment Reporter
The Night Agent season 3 (Netflix)
Look
Pack your bags, because maverick FBI agent Peter Sutherland’s next mission will take us to Istanbul, Mexico City, Washington, New York, and the Dominican Republic in The night agent season 3.
Tasked with hunting down a young Treasury agent who went on the run with secret government information after killing his boss, Peter soon finds himself with a bounty on his head when he uncovers a dark money network that has been rigging the election. With assassins closing in to protect an international conspiracy, can Sutherland bring down this latest house of cards?
Netflix is billing this high-stakes chase as Peter’s “most dangerous mission yet,” which is no small feat considering the success Shawn Ryan’s spy thriller has already had. – Amelia Schwanke, Senior Entertainment Editor
56 days (main video)
Look
Prime Video used to make a name for itself by regularly producing must-see shows aimed at 16- to 25-year-olds, so it shouldn’t surprise us to see a romantic crime thriller. 56 days take center stage this week.
The gripping crime novel stars Dove Cameron and Avan Jogia as Ciara and Oliver, who become embroiled in a murder mystery after a whirlwind romance. The eight episodes of 56 days are now available on Prime Video, so I recommend watching this Amazon TV original as soon as possible so that no one ruins its ending before you get to it. – T.P.
Rental Family (Hulu/Disney+)
Look
The Brendan Fraser revival is a movement I have supported for a long time. In fact, his return to the spotlight after several personal problems is something I appreciate, especially for such a talented actor and humble person like him.
You can bet, then, that the arrival of his latest film – a drama called Rental family – on Hulu and Disney+ means my weekend viewing is sorted. In it, Fraser plays Philip, a struggling actor living in Japan who takes a second job at a family rental service. Putting his skills to use, he plays various roles in the lives of strangers facing their own problems.
Another unmissable addition to Fraser’s work, Rental family It will make you laugh one minute and cry the next. A deeply compassionate, sweet and warm film that deserves more attention. – T.P.
The Last Thing He Said to Me Season 2 (Apple TV)
Look
Laura Dave only published the sequel to the successful novel The last thing he told me in January, so it’s a surprise to see that Apple TV has already released the first episode of its second season.
Initially, Dave had not planned a sequel, but the strong reaction to the story about Hannah, a wife searching for the truth behind her husband Owen’s disappearance, made another chapter inevitable. However, for Jennifer Garner, who plays Hannah, a new season was a no-brainer. “Didn’t you realize you were writing one of the greatest cliffhangers of all time?” he asked Dave in a preview of Apple TV’s 2026 slate. We’ll see if the reward is worth it in the next chapter of Apple TV Original. – AS
Murder in Glitterball City (HBO Max)
If you loved Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato’s 1998 cult classic Party Monster: The Shock Documentarywho delved into New York’s infamous ‘Club Kids’ scene, you won’t want to miss his new HBO Max true crime documentary. Murder in Glitterball City.
The story delves into the queer subculture of Louisville, Kentucky, following the 2010 murder of Jamie Carrol, a hairstylist and drag performer known as Ronicka Reed, whose body was found buried in the basement of a Victorian mansion.
At the center of the case are lovers Joey Banis and Jeffrey Mundt, who accuse each other in what became known as the “He-said-he-said” trial. Taking us back to the chilling love triangle and its deadly outcome, this documentary will send chills down your spine. – AS
The SpongeBob SquarePants Movie: Search for SquarePants (Paramount+)
Look
Big boy, big boy. If you’ve seen Ice Spice’s viral dance videos on TikTok, you’ll already know the premise of The SpongeBob Movie: Search for Squarepantswhich is now available on Paramount+.
Fed up with being nervous about everything, SpongeBob decides to put on his big man pants and ride the biggest roller coaster in Bikini Bottom. But when he bottles it, he ends up unknowingly helping the Flying Dutchman try to lift the curse on his life.
If you were under 10 years old in the 2000s and thought the original spongebob The movie was the best choice, this movie is for you. The animation style may have changed, but the heart certainly hasn’t. – Jasmine Valentine, entertainment reporter
The BAFTAs 2026 (BBC/E!/HBO Max)
Look
Can you believe Paddington Bear himself will be hosting this year’s BAFTA Film Awards? Honestly, it’s worth tuning in just for that.
The BAFTAs are the last big awards stop before this year’s Oscars ceremony, and they’re likely to clash with Hollywood winners. I would safely bet my money on Jessie Buckley winning Best Actress for Hamnet and Timothée Chalamet won Best Actor for marty supremebut be prepared for some possible surprises. – joint venture
