It’s a big weekend for shows rather than movies here in early March. We’ve got four brand new shows worth watching debuting on top streaming services, ranging from detective capers to scandalous dramas.
There are two hits that return in the form. Ted season 2 and the final season of Outlander, and even this week’s new movie is TV-related, like Downton Abbey: the grand finale comes to Netflix. That’s why we’re looking forward to these shows, plus the trailers if you want to see a little more.
Vladimir (Netflix)
Look
Bless it to anyone who is a die-hard Rachel Weisz fan, like Vladimir offers the same level of outrageous product as its 2023 television adaptation of dead bell ringers. She plays a woman known simply as The Protagonist, a professor at a university with her husband John (John Slattery), who has been suspended after numerous sexual assault allegations against him came to light.
At the same time, new professor Vladimir (Leo Woodall) arrives on campus and, even though they are both married, Weisz falls in love with him and fantasizes about Vladimir whenever he can.
Not only does the new Netflix show consist of eight steamy episodes, but it’s also ridiculously messy. If we take away the rose-colored glasses, we’re left with a complicated soup of pure disorder, one that makes us critically engage in ways we normally fear. Young Sherlock (main video)

Who knew that Sherlock Holmes (Hero Fiennes Tiffin) and James Moriarty (Dónal Finn) were basically the Smothers Brothers of the detective game in their youth? Well, at least they are in the imagination of Matthew Parkhill and Guy Ritchie about the famous detective’s youth in young sherlock.
Filled with thrilling action and endless mysteries at a faster-than-light pace, shows like this rejuvenate your enthusiasm for what television can achieve, the impressive direction that entertainment and design can collectively take.

Rooster (HBO Max)

Comedy icon Steve Carell leads HBO Max cast Rooster. She stars alongside Charly Clive and plays a father-daughter duo who have a complicated relationship.
Carell’s character, Greg Russo, is a best-selling author with a popular character named Rooster. He’s nothing like his beloved book character and wishes he could be, and he’s forced to confront a lot when he’s brought in to speak at the liberal arts college where his daughter, Kate, works. Here, he gets more than he bargained for when he finds her in the middle of a personal crisis that he must help resolve, striking a deal with her department head to help her keep her job (between this and Vladimireverything is happening in academia right now…).
The series has 10 episodes and the pilot will be released on March 8. If you like it, you can expect weekly releases and add something new to your viewing schedule. – Lucy Buglass, Senior Entertainment Writer
RJ Decker (Hulu)

With a sunny Florida backdrop, RJ Decker It follows an ex-con turned private investigator who describes himself as a “private investigator, but a public disaster.” I’m already looking forward to seeing Scott Speedman take on such an intriguing role in this new Hulu crime series.
Throughout the nine episodes, RJ Decker tackles strange cases with his former journalist, his police wife and a woman from his past with unclear intentions. It’s a big crowd, and I’m sure there will be plenty of drama and confrontations throughout the series.
if you lack High potential Like me, this series could be the perfect way to solve outlandish crimes and is an interesting new addition to the Hulu library. – pound
Ted T2 (Peacock)

As I told my new best friend Alanna Ubach during an interview earlier this week, the world has never needed the explicit nonsense of Ted season 2 that now. John (Max Burkholder) goes to high school, with Ted (Seth MacFarlane) accompanying him on a wild, foul-mouthed ride.
But it’s not just these two who are out of control. Susan (Ubach) is arrested and the entire family participates in a raucous game of Dungeons and Dragons to try to get some drugs. Precious memories to be made, I’m sure.
Ted is still the star of the show, and if MacFarlane is reading this, I need more episodes pumped into my veins, stat. — joint venture
Downton Abbey: The Grand Finale (Netflix)
You are cordially invited to the scandal of the season: Downton Abbey opens its doors for the last time. The Crawleys are forced to accept change with the next generation, because they are now responsible for leading the estate and its legacy into the future.
Of course, this is easier said than done, especially when Mary becomes embroiled in a public scandal and the family faces financial problems. The threat of social disgrace suddenly becomes all too real and they must fight to protect their reputation.
Downton Abbey: the grand finale was truly great, and critics praised the film for being a satisfying conclusion to the long-running drama. It’s now on Netflix, so you can revisit the beloved estate whenever you want. – pound
Outlander season 8 (last season – Starz)

And so, the end is near. After 12 years of following the time-travel love story of Claire (Caitriona Balfe) and Jamie (Sam Heughan), stranger Season 8 is its final chapter. If early reviews are anything to go by, we’re about to return to the pure romantic magic of Season 1.
What will be particularly interesting is how the prequel to the spin-off series will play out. Outlander: Blood of my blood could be included in the main story, following Claire and Jamie’s parents. We know that a second season was filmed around the same time, so it’s surely not too much of a stretch to assume that some intriguing cameos could be on the cards. Or maybe I’m just a dreamer… make of it what you will. — joint venture
