QUETTA:
The armed men blocked the national road in the Rirkan area of Barkhan in Baluchistan and shot seven people after getting them out of passenger coaches in which they were traveling, said Express News on Tuesday night.
Citing its sources, the report declared that due to the incident, the Quetta administration had stopped passenger vehicles in Rakhni, Biwata and Maikhtar, adding that Barkhan’s assistant commissioner confirmed the deaths in the shooting.
The incident follows, the murder of 11 workers in an explosion of improvised explosive device (FDI) in the Shahrag area of the Harani district. The official said the terrorist attack hit the vehicle when coal mining workers were traveling to a market in the district on Friday.
Friday’s attack was not the first time that coal miners were attacked in the region. In the past, workers who work in coal mines have been kidnapped and killed in similar attacks, which raises concerns about the security situation in the area.
