Nine terrorists were neutralized by security forces in two separate intelligence operations (IBOs) in North Waziristan district, the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) said in a statement on Sunday.
The army’s media wing said the IBOs took place on Saturday in Dosalli and Esham areas of the district, adding that the slain terrorists were involved in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as killing of civilians.
“On January 11, 2025, nine Khwarij were sent to hell in two separate clashes in North Waziristan district,” the ISPR said. During the operation in the general Dosalli area, “the troops themselves effectively attacked the Khwarij location and as a result, six Khwarij were sent to hell, while two Khwarij were detained.”
Another IBO took place in the general area of Esham, the ISPR claimed. “After an intense exchange of fire, three Khwarij were neutralized by security forces, while two Khwarij were injured. Weapons and ammunition were also recovered from the dead Khwarij,” he added.
According to the ISPR, the terrorists killed in IBO “continued to actively engage in numerous terrorist activities against security forces as well as targeted killings of innocent civilians.” Remediation operations are being carried out to “eliminate any other kharji found in the area” as “Pakistan’s security forces are determined to eradicate the menace of terrorism in the country.”
President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised security forces for carrying out successful IBOs against terrorists in North Waziristan and expressed confidence that these counter-terrorism efforts would pave the way for a peaceful and secure future for Pakistan. .
In a statement, the president reaffirmed the government’s determination to completely eliminate the threat of terrorism from the country. He highlighted that security forces actively participate in operations to eradicate the scourge of terrorism, guaranteeing the peace and security of the nation.
In a separate statement, Chief Minister Shehbaz praised the officers and jawans of the security forces for the successful operations. He paid glowing tribute to the security forces and stated that the war will continue until the complete annihilation of the demon of terrorism from the country.
“The armed forces are an iron wall in defense of the country against terrorists,” he said, adding: “The people of Pakistan stand shoulder to shoulder with the security forces.” The Prime Minister said that the officers and jawans serve the country day and night with consistency.
