The second Samsung event unpacked from the year is over, and it was another great for folding fans and smart watches.
As predicted (many) leaks and rumors, Samsung threw a trio of new folding. Leading the package was the new Galaxy Z Fold 7, but they also treated us with more affordable alternatives in the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fe (which seems to be the Z Flip 6 disguised).
It was not just a great folding festival either, with Samsung also delivering the Galaxy Watch 8. Together with the new Galaxy Watch 8, we also saw the return of the rotating bezel with the Galaxy Watch 8 Classic, an intelligent clock that also makes a very good impersonation of a dress watch.
But what else revealed Samsung (or did not reveal) in what will probably be his last 2025 unpaid event? Here are all the big headlines in a useful place …
1. The Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 finally brings a usable coverage screen to the party
In recent years, it seems that the Galaxy Z Flip series has been one step behind the competition, but that finally changes with the new Galaxy Z Flip 7.
Samsung has apparently innovated in all the right places with its last folding flip, which has a large and beautiful cover screen (now it is 4.1 inches!) And a large amount of significant longevity updates such as a stronger hinge and a more powerful exyn 2500 chip set.

Attend
The Internal Flip 7 screen has also been reinforced. With 6.9 inches, it is larger and wider than the internal screen in the Galaxy Z Flip 6, and as we notice in our galaxy z flip 7 of Galaxy Z, this size “makes the phone feel more like an ultra galaxy S25 and less as a strange folding in the hand.”
Other updates include a larger battery and an improvement of waterproofing, but the Galaxy Z Flip 7 is the new visualization experience: both screens are larger and better, and as a result, the Samsung Flip series is no longer tracking behind the Motorola Razr Ultra.
2. The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 is a ‘ultra’ level phone with a price to coincide
The Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 7 was possibly the star of this last unpaid event. Far from being just an iterative update, this was a complete improvement in the already exclusive Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 6, as we have described in our practical review of Samsung Galaxy Z fold 7.
Of course, there are expected energy updates, with this phone winning a Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset and, at the upper end, an additional 4 GB of RAM. But Samsung has also equipped the Galaxy Z Fold 7 with a new 200MP primary pargo, and increased the sizes of both screens.

Attend
Perhaps the most important thing is that this is, with much, the thinner and light fold Z until now, reaching only 215 g (that is less than the Samsung Galaxy S25 ultra!), And only 8.9 mm thick when folding and 4.2 mm thick when it unfolds.
But all this has a high price, with the Galaxy Z Fold 7 from $ 1,999.99 / £ 1,799 / au $ 2,899, which in the US. UU. It is $ 100 more than last year’s phone and in Australia is au $ 150 more. Oh.
3. The galaxy z Flip 6 has reborn as the galaxy z flip 7 faith
For the first time, Samsung has launched a faith version of one of its folding phones, giving potential buyers a cheaper entry point than usual. But if you have been watching folding phones, then the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fe may seem strangely familiar to you.
That is because this is basically only the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 6 again. It has exactly the same dimensions, it weighs the same and both have a 120Hz folding screen of 6.7 inches and a 60Hz de 3.4 -inch cover screen.
Their cameras are also the same (although to be fair they also coincide with the specifications of the Z Flip 7 standard Z Flip), and both phones have a 4,000 mAh battery.
The main differences are simply chipset and RAM, with the Samsung Galaxy Z Flip 7 Fe with an exy 2400 and 8GB, instead of a Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 and 12 GB. Therefore, the newest phone is actually less powerful, but also costs less, from $ 899 / £ 849 / Au $ 1,499. It remains to be seen if that lower price will be enough to tempt buyers.
4. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 is thinner and bright than before
It was not only unpaid phones: Samsung also announced some portable devices, including the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8, and this has a new 8.6 mm design of more thin thickness, and a much brighter screen that can reach 3,000 nutes.
Nor is it only the hardware that has been updated, since the Galaxy Watch 8 also has some new software characteristics, such as Gemini on the wrist and a new coach in execution, which can put it in one of the 160 different race plans.
Now there is also an ‘antioxidant index’, which can give him an idea of whether he is eating enough fruits and vegetables (although in the background the answer to that is probably knows).
Not all are good news: our practical review of Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 pointed out, for example, that the battery life is still too short, but the updates that have been made promising. There is also a new classic version, for fans of rotating bezels …
5. The Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic is this year’s response to the ultra
Last year, Samsung launched the Samsung Galaxy Watch Ultra, but instead of obtaining a new Ultra model this year, we have the Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic.
The classic has a rotating bezel, very similar to previous classic models, and our practical review of Samsung Galaxy Watch 8 Classic was as taken with this as always. But also borrow from the Ultra with, for example, a fast programmable button. And although this laptop is definitely dressed to impress, it is not small, which reaches a bulk of 10.6 mm thick.
Most of the other prominent aspects are on the side of the software, with the Watch 8 Classic packing Gemini in Wrist, the detection of sleep apnea and the same new coach in execution as the Galaxy Standard Galaxy 8.
A $ 499 / £ 449 / AU $ 899 This is a more expensive prospect than the Samsung Galaxy Standard Samsung Watch 8, but it will also surely touch more heads.
6. Google Gemini arrives at the Galaxy Watch 8, and all use smart watches of the operating system
One of the great ads of the AI in this unpaid event was that Google Gemini would arrive at the Galaxy Watch 8.
This means that you can talk to Gemini without having your phone nearby, and will allow you to ask your smart watch questions using natural language. In theory, you must also get quick and concise responses, but we will seek to try this for ourselves before judging.
Google says that Gemini will begin to deploy to use SO watches “in the coming weeks”, as long as your watch is working with OS 4 or more.
7. The one UI 8 deployment is landing soon (for some)
If you do not feel so long since an UI 7 landed, it was not: the Samsung version of Android 15 arrived as recently as December 2024. But an UI 8 will soon take the witness only six months later, with the new operating system in the Z FOLD 7 and Z Flip 7, which on July 25 on July 25.
So what is new to an UI 8? As we cover in our recent summary of rumors, you can expect to see an improved audio draft, in addition to several other IA improvements. These include a more powerful Gemini Live function (now also available in the flexible Z Flip 7 window) and a better version of Circle To Search, which can take advantage of Google AI mode to get deeper answers to your questions.
However, one of our big questions without an answer is exactly when an IU 8 will be launched to older Samsung devices such as the S25 galaxy? Samsung did not approach that in his last unpacked, which will leave some worried that he can prolong a vein similar to an UI 7.
8. The z fold 7 is settled with the pen
A more controversial news of Samsung’s second unpacked this year is that the Galaxy Z Fold 7 has eliminated the support for S Pen. Because? Everything is in the aid of that thinner folding design.
When leaving the digitizer layer on the screen that admits the S pen, Samsung has been able to obtain the galaxy z fold 7 down only 8.9 mm thick when folding and only 4.2 mm when it unfolds. For some, the lack of feather support support will be an annoying commitment, but Samsung clearly thinks that it is one that is worth doing.
To be fair, the Z Fold series has never come with a pen, nor has it had a slot where you can store one. It was also possible to use it on the internal folding screen, instead of the cover screen. But Samsung may have incurred the anger of advanced users who see the Fold series as the natural heirs of their old Note family.
9. Samsung’s trifiable is not yet ready for stellar schedule
All stars pointed to an official advance of the Samsung Galaxy tri-foldable, or G FOLD, as mentioned in rumors, in this event unpacked from 2025. But we didn’t even get a five-second trailer.
This was disappointing, since in recent days we have seen the first signs of the tri-pliabable appear in One UI 8, along with credible rumors about mass production from September. That led us to think that Samsung would at least begin to build the exaggeration for his next great folding design.
But there are also good reasons why it was not so, including the expected exclusivity of the tri-holdable. Not only is it rumored that it is prohibitively expensive (early whispers predicted a label in the $ 3,000- $ 3,500 region), there is the possibility that it also only goes on sale in South Korea and China, initially.
If that is the case, then a revelation in a global event as unpacked 2025 would make less sense. But it does not make us less excited to see him at the end of this year.
