The Supreme Court has issued a policy regarding the use of official vehicles by the judges. The policy, called the Policy of Transportation Law for the Judges of the Supreme Court 2025, will be applied to the titular and retired judges of the Apex Court.
According to the order of the judges of the Supreme Court (license, pension, privileges) of 1997, read with the Charter of the Ministry of Law, Justice and Human Rights Division dated 07.06,2007, in the elevation, a judge of the Supreme Court has the right to use two official cars until 1800cc.
“A vehicle will be used as the ‘main car’ (for official purposes), while the other as the ‘secondary/family car’. The vehicles so planned will be kept at the expense of the government through the budget allocation of the Court with pol in both cars up to 600 liters per month (as decided by the monthly roof or the real use) in the production of a respective certificate by the private secretary of the private secretary of the honor, according to the private secretary of the private secretary, according to the private secretary of the private secretary, according to the private secretary of the private secretary, according to the private secretary of the private secretary, monthly roof prescribed by the monthly roof).
Each judge will also be entitled to the provision of two drivers: one provided by the Court of Regular Fortress and the other designated in a contingent manner.
In exceptional circumstances or in an emergency base, if requested, a third car can be provided, subject to availability, after the approval of the registrar for a maximum period of two weeks. If said period requires greater extension, it will only be allowed with the approval of the president of the president of Pakistan (CJP), to the payment of the prescribed charges. In any case, a third car will not retain more than eight weeks in a year.
Provision of security vehicles (escort)
The policy establishes that the CJP is entitled to security (escort vehicles) according to the blue book under the supervision of the Security Director (CSO).
“Each honorable judge will have the right to the disposition of a well -trained armed man with a security vehicle (escort) in a proportion of 1/4, provided by the Islamabad Police in the main seat and by the provincial police officers in case any honorable judge is a provincial jurisdiction. Right to transport after retirement
The policy establishes that each regular judge of the court, when retirement, can retain the primary car for a maximum period of one month, after which the vehicle will be recovered and returned to the court’s pool.
“Each regular judge of the court, in retirement, will have the right to buy a primary or secondary car to the depreciated value according to the existing government policy, provided that the honorable judge has not used the installation previously.”
In addition, he affirms that each judge withdrawn from the court, at the request during his stay in Islamabad or provincial capitals, as the case may be, will be entitled to the provision of an official vehicle, subject to availability, for charges prescribed as determined by the entire court, together with a complementary installation of Pick-And-Drop A/from the airport.
Vehicle elimination
“In accordance with the relevant rules for the use of personnel cars, 1980, when reaching the age/monster limit prescribed, official vehicles will be eliminated by means of the law/prevailing rules. The procedure for elimination will be transparent and compliance with the guidelines of the Regulatory Authority of Prosecutor Public (PPRA) or other laws applicable for the time that is applied.”
It is also clarified that all the costs incurred in relation to the acquisition, maintenance, food and operation of official vehicles, as well as the use of drivers, will meet the sanctioned budget of the Court under the respective bosses.
It is also clarified that in case of ambiguity or uncertainty regarding the interpretation of this policy, the matter will be placed before the CJP for the appropriate orders.
Funeral arrangement policies
SC has issued new guidelines to manage arrangements about the disappearance of former judges, designating focal people to help with funerals, transport and placement of floral crowns.
According to the office order, the Deputy Secretary (several), or in his absence, the Assistant Secretary (MISC.), Senior or Personal Design Protocol Officer, will serve as a focal person in Islamabad.
The officers in charge of the branch records in Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta will perform similar tasks at the provincial level.
The focal person will represent the Court, will help with the transport of the deceased to the funeral site and place a crown of flowers on behalf of the president of the Supreme Court of Pakistan and the seated judges.
