- Nvidia is bringing its geforce RTX 5080 to Geforce now, for its level ‘last’ level membership
- Prices will remain the same, with improved performance of the game
- The generation of multiple frames will also be available in Geforce now
Gamescom 2025 is finally here, with many new triple-A games to wait, and Nvidia has been working hard behind the scene to further strengthen its offer of local games and in the cloud.
Nvidia has announced that the Blackwell RTX 5080 GPU together with the generation of multiple frames (MFG), will reach the ‘Ultimate’ level membership by GeForce Now (GFN), scheduled for its launch in September. The Team Green driver level generation tool, Smooth Motion, will also be available for RTX 4000 series GPU users, starting in Beta this August.
While RTX 5080 will improve the performance in the cloud games service, GFN membership prices will not increase, as some may have expected. It is worth noting that the RTX 5080 cloud support will only be available for selected games, and that seems configured for more demanding graphically.
And that is not all that cloud fans can expect. The new cinematographic quality transmission function (CQS) will reach GFN, with NVIDIA alleging that this will offer “next generation image quality that rivals local PC games.” Seeing it first hand in Black Wukong myth Screen catches, the improvements in the quality of the texture in the foliage are clear to see.
Titles like Call of Duty Black Ops 7, Borderlands 4, Mooring Light: The beast, and Hell are us It will be available once.
As for Smooth Motion, the users of the GeForce RTX 4000 series have been waiting for a lot of time for this function, and is finally on their way.
This will essentially allow players to enable the generation of paintings at the level of driver for games that do not have incorporated Nvidia generation support. It acts in the same way as AMD fluid movement frames, and is designed to improve performance with frames generated by AI.
It will be initially available during Gamescom 2025 through Beta in the NVIDIA application, and will be implemented with all users at the end of August.
It is not yet known if the soft movement will reach older RTX generations, and it is worth noting that the generation of paintings is currently limited to the GPUs of the RTX 5000 and RTX 4000 series.
ANALYSIS: Cloud games continue to improve more and more …
If I did not have a game configuration, Geforce would now be in my alley. This is because it is widely available on multiple devices, and is now using the second most powerful GPU in the market for cloud games.
I have not been a particular fan of cloud games, since it requires a good Internet connection, which is not always a guarantee (depending on where you are). However, with additions such as the transmission of low latency (LLS), delay and stuttering should be much less problems.
Portable PC players will benefit from this significantly, particularly those who use Steam Deck or Lenovo Legion Go S (Z2 GO) tastes, since they can play cloud games in higher graphics configurations.
I love to see updates like this of Team Green, and it is good to know that if I ever need to use GFN one day, I can enjoy the benefits of these new features.
