- Future Cry Games will focus “predominantly” on multiplayer mode, according to Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot
- The CEO says he wants to bring multiplayer aspects to the series “so that players can also play for a long time”
- Guillemot’s latest comments corroborate the previous reports that the next Cry The game will have multiplayer elements
The Ubisoft CEO, Yves Guillemot, has offered an idea of the future of the Cry Series, revealing that it will be more focused on multiplayer mode in the future.
During the new Saudi Arabia Global Sports Conference (through Gamefile and VGC), Guillemot was asked about the future of the long -term series and made fun of how the next entry could be.
Said the objective “in Cry [is] Really to bring the most promised multiplayer aspects predominantly, so that players can also play it for a long time. “
Guillemot’s comments are aligned with an October 2021 report after the launch of Far Cry 6where it was stated that Far Cry 7 It would take the series in a completely different direction from “exploring a more oriented online approach” for the next game.
In January 2023, it was reported that Ubisoft was working on two Cry Games, one being Far Cry 7 and the second a spin-off independent multiplayer.
At that time, Kotaku wrote that Guillemot mentioned both potential games at an internal meeting of the company and that Ubisoft is apparently changing the dunia engine to snowdrop for the new games, the engine behind The division Games and Star Wars Outlaws.
Ubisoft has not yet officially announced its next Cry Game, but given the recent comments of the CEO, it is likely that the future of the popular series of shooters looks very different from what we are familiar.
