Wisdomtree has launched a new tokenized fund focused on private credit.
The new fund, called Wisdomtree and Alternative Private Credit Fund (CRDT)It tracks a basket of 35 closed funds that are publicly negotiated, business development companies and real estate investment trusts, reports Bloomberg.
It is available with a minimum investment of only $ 25 and offers a redemption of two days. Wisdomtree, it is worth adding, launched an ETF that tracked the same reference point in 2021, the Wisdomtree private credit fund and the alternative income fund.
Private credit, loans made outside of traditional banks, has shot in recent years as investors pursue the investment options focused on performance.
“It really is just to bring the class of assets to an entire universe of different investors,” said Will Peck, manager of digital assets in Wisdomtree.
The firm has launched a series of tokenized investment vehicles so far, including those that offer exposure to monetary market funds, fixed income values and shares.
The new background joins a growing trend among the largest asset administrators of Wall Street. Blackrock, for example, manages a money fund of $ 2 billion, while the Fidelity Tokenized Monetary Mercado Fund was recently implemented in Ethereum.
Wisdomtree joins a broader trend. The money market fund of $ 2 billion of Tokenized Blackrock and Fidelity and Vaneck’s experiments suggest that traditional finances are taking seriously the tokenization of real world assets, even if it is still small compared to ETF billion and mutual funds.
