- Microsoft is presenting an easy way for players to change between application windows through the full screen experience of the new Xbox PC application
- Players can use a long pressure on the Xbox start button for the new task view
- Now it is available through the Windows 11 Insider program of Microsoft
Microsoft’s Rog Xbox Ally and Asus collaboration is on the horizon, and although I am not particularly excited about its launch or the device itself, one of the features that come from the new ‘full screen experience’ should be beneficial for all PC players.
As reported by Verge, Microsoft is changing the Xbox button in the controllers to mention a new task switch after a long pressure, which helps users to change between Windows of applications easily. This is now available for Windows 11 Insider users and is configured as an integral part of the new full screen of the Xbox PC application, an exclusive timed for Rog Xbox ally.
Essentially, this sounds like an extension of Xbox Game Bar, which, in retrospect, I have thought that it has needed a review for a long time, considering its Buggy and insensitive nature. I have said several times that I am doubtful that the new incorporations of Microsoft move me away from Stemos, but this is excellent for my PC for desktop games.
It seems that Microsoft is really trying to build a PC experience similar to the console, with a long press essentially works in the same way that the consoles do to access the start menu or a board.
Being able to change quickly between applications without hitting the Windows key sounds like a breath of fresh air, ultimately helping to avoid discomfort with the Windows taskbar, and I hope that the inevitable deployment of Microsoft of the entire new interface for other systems next year does not take too long.
Analysis: True concern are the improvements in games performance
Seeing the performance gap between Windows 11 and Stemos, with the latter by providing better box velocities, lets me ask me how full screen experience (I really hope you will give it an official name) will change this.
I still have no intention of using on my desk, since I am waiting for improvements when I use Nvidia hardware, so I am definitely intrigued by what Microsoft has to offer with its new game mode. We have seen how Windows 11 is for games with less Bloatware that uses tools like Tiny11, so I would not surprise me if we see something similar.
It is quite bad that players have to deal with poorly optimized PC ports, and the study CEO blame the players for their own hardware configurations, so the last thing we need is that the background services spoil the game performance.
With luck, it is the beginning of something significant for Microsoft, competing with Valve, to provide healthy competition.
