Pakistan signs the Health Cooperation Agreement with Palestine


Pakistan and Palestine have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation in the health sector, authorities confirmed Wednesday.

The agreement was signed by the Federal Minister of Health Mustafa Kamal and the Palestinian ambassador to a ceremony attended by Altos Health officials, including Federal Secretary of Health Hamid Yaqoob, additional secretary health and the general director of Health.

The Federal Minister of Health, Mustafa Kamal, announced that a Health Working Group of Pakistan-Palestine will be established within the next 30 days to supervise the implementation of the agreement and guide practical collaboration.

He said that the cooperation approach would include advanced medical fields such as interventionist cardiology, organ transplantation, orthopedic surgery, endoscopic ultrasound and burning and plastic surgery. The joint efforts will also be carried out in infectious diseases, ophthalmology and pharmaceutical products, together with collaborative research opportunities.

“The purpose of this agreement is to promote a closer collaboration to improve the health and well -being of the people of both fraternal nations,” Kamal said. “We will continue to extend all possible support to our Palestinian brothers and sisters in the field of health. The hearts of the people of Pakistan win with Palestine, and we are ready to help them in all possible ways.”

The Palestinian ambassador welcomed the initiative, saying: “Palestine and Pakistan are fraternal countries. Together, we will work for the improvement of the health and well -being of our peoples.”
