Garmin has just dropped the Garmin Venu 4, the last iteration of his exercise clock with the fitness focused on the lifestyle, and since the Apple Watch 11 also has just been released, that leaves you with a decision on which one to buy.
Packaging a speaker, microphone and voice assistant together with the usual AMOLED screen, the fitness tracking software suite and the comprehensive application of Garmin Connect, the VENU models are designed to be ‘healthy’ healthy ‘smart’ healthy ‘smart watches, as well as fitness follow -up partners.
Seeing that his predecessor, the Garmin Venu 3, was the best of our best purchase guide for Garmin Watch, we expect great things from Venu 4. It costs $ 549.99 in the USA. UU., £ 469.99 in the United Kingdom and Au $ 949, for 41 mm and 45 mm models.
That is a serious increase on Venu 3, which was sold to US $ 450 / £ 399 / AU $ 749 when it arrived two years ago, and more expensive than the standard 11 Apple Watch 11 series, which begins at $ 399 / £ 369 / AU $ 679 for the version of only 40 mm.
However, there are some things that can make the Apple Watch 11 series cannot, so for the right person, it could be worth paying the probabilities for Garmin Venu 4.
See my list below to get a quintet of great features that you will not find in the best Apple watches, and be sure to read our complete Apple Watch 11 review.
1. Light LED
Apple Watch has a kind of flashlight mode, but all it does is illuminate the screen, exhausting its battery already scarce. The Garmin Venu 4 joins many of the other Garmin watches this year, such as the Garmin Instinct 3, to obtain a dedicated LED flashlight.
Able to shine at four intensities and with an additional mode of red light too, it is useful to get attention in the desert, change red to help you run or walk safely at night, and to find the way to the bathroom in the middle of the night.
2. Battery duration
Although the Apple Watch 11 series has recently had its battery life in six hours to a total of 24 hours, the Garmin Venu 4 has actually lost two days of battery compared to its predecessor, the Garmin Venu 3.
However, Garmin Venu 4 is still registered in considerable 12 days in smart watch mode, according to Garmin’s press materials. Wait to see that fall considerably with the always burned screen, but it will still get a few days.
3. New holistic health characteristics
The Garmin Venu 4 is one of the first watches that Garmin’s new lifestyle record function receives, along with the Garmin Instinct crossover. We have not yet tried this, but it seems to be similar to the characteristics of Whoop and Oura that allow you to apply the context to your heart rate graphics using digital newspaper inputs or labels.
Nestas, caffeine registration, alcohol consumption and more through the lifestyle registration function can offer additional clarity for peripheral data. For example, if you drank a lot of caffeine at the end of the day, you can register this and better understand the resulting fall in your sleep score.
A health status widget also quickly notifies you if your statistics deviate from the norm, which could be indicative of stress or disease.
4. Circadian rhythm detection
Yes, Apple is adding a sleep score to its watches, but Garmin has gone one step further and states, with Venu 4, to be able to estimate the circadian rhythms and how aligned his schedule is with the natural sleep cycle of his body. Using this information, you can supposedly adjust your bedtime to get an optimal dream.
Garmin is also adding sleep consistency, providing a glance at his average time to bed during the last week.
5. Fitness coach
Garmins are Fitness Watches in the first place, and their Garmin Connect application and current training skills have always been first class. It is particularly useful for runners, cyclists, hikers and swimmers, offering rotating route instructions within the native training application together with standard gold metrics. Apple’s training application is solid, particularly its redesign Watchos 26, but cannot offer the type of guidance that Garmin can.
In addition, it is expanding these characteristics with Fitness Coach, an extension of its personalized training rates algorithmically, offering suggested training daily based on an objective for 25 different training profiles. These include walking and running, but also interior cycling and Hiit.
We will check the Garmin Venu 4 very soon, so don’t be surprised if you see it on our list of the best smart watches in a short time.
