- Fortnite Creators can sell articles and cosmetics since December 2025
- Until the end of 2026, they will maintain all the profits, at which time Epic will take 50% to help finance the game ecosystem
- Creators can pay to present their island in the sponsored row
If there is something you can say about FortniteIt is the massive success of Epic Games does not stop for a long time.
While we hope the new Power Rangers Megazord arrives, the developer has confirmed that Fortnite’s creators and developers who build their own experiences can sell items in the game.
Revealed as part of an update blog post for the creators ecosystem, Epic announced that as of December, developers can sell items from their own Fortnite Islands in the game, completely jumping the game of the game itself.
While creators will eventually earn 50% of the V-Bucks value for the items sold, Epic says that from December 2025 to the end of 2026, they will win all of that value.
As for how this value will calculate, Epic says: “Determine the value of V-Bucks in US dollars in a certain month, we carry all the customer’s real money expenses to buy V-Bucks (converted into US dollars), they subtract the platform and store rates (ranging from 12% in the EPIC games store up to 30% in the current consoles) V-Bucks spent by players. “
“Average platform and Fortnite store are currently 26% (with specific rates ranging from 12% in the Epic Games store to 30% on console platforms). Therefore, 50% of the V-Bucks value translates into ~ 37% of retail spending, and 100% of the V-Bucks value translates into ~ 74%.”
The items that can be sold will be adapted to ‘consumable’ and ‘lasting’ categories, with the former that include articles for unique or limited use, and the second, including skins and other cosmetics.
If a creator wants to highlight an item for sale, you can buy space in the sponsored row to highlight their island to other users, and Epic says that creators will also get additional income from a ‘commitment group’ that takes into account how long the players spend on the island of a creator, how much money they spend there and how many users stay.
