Peshawar:
Tensions exploded in the Tirah Valley of the Khyber district on Tuesday as the protests continued for the death of civilians, while the first round of conversations between a government delegation, which includes provincial ministers, and the protesters ended on Monday without progress.
The protesters pressed responsibility for responsibility for civil casualties in Tirah. According to the sources, they insisted that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), Prime Minister, Ali Amin Gandapur, and the body commander visit the sitting site to apologize to the families of the victims.
They also sought guarantees that such incidents do not resort. The Government Delegation assured that the prime minister would personally attend the seated in the coming days to offer condolences. However, the protesters promised to continue their demonstration until their demands were met.
The protests come from an explosion on Sunday night in Akakhel, Tirah, who killed at least 14 militants and 10 civilians. While the police maintain the explosion that occurred within an IED factory administered by TTP, opposition legislators insist that it was caused by air attacks that destroyed civilian homes.
The issue again caused a heated debate in the KP Assembly. The legislators of the banks of Treasury Shafi Jan, Dr. Amjad and Fazl Hakeem firmly protested the murder of civilians in Tirah and asked for an immediate session of the Parliamentary Committee.
The legislators criticized the Minister of Defense Khawaja Asif and the Minister of Railways, Hanif Abbasi, for calling Afghanistan an enemy state, arguing that such comments ignored the deep tribal and cultural ties through the border.
They emphasized that peace in KP was closely linked to Afghanistan, adding that peace was deliberately undermined as part of a conspiracy. The legislators emphasized that the main minister and his team would seek conversations with the Afghan authorities.
