The right to assist non -negotiable self -govern, says OIC


Pakistan raised the theme of the Jammu and Kashmir illegally occupied from the Indians outside the meeting of the Islamic Cooperation Organization during the 80th session of the United Nations General Assembly. In a statement from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Pakistan, together with Azerbaijan, Türkiye, Saudi Arabia and Niger, reiterated “unwavering support for the inalienable right of the people of Kashmir to self -determination.”

“Emphasize that some of the unjustified statements of Indian leaders and irresponsible statements about Azad Jammu and Kashmir and Gilgit-Baltistan constitute a threat to regional peace.”

This could be in reference to the recent statements made by Indian Minister of Indian Rajnath Singh on Monday. The minister hinted that the Sindhoor operation was not over, but simply detained, with a possible “second and third phase of the Sindhoor operation.” He said that India will take control of Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK).

The Sindhoor operation was India’s military action against Pakistan after an attack in Pahalgam. India without foundation of Islamabad responsible for the attack and launched a military response that killed 51 Pakistani. In response to the attacks of India, the Pakistan army launched the Bunyanum Marsoos operation. Pakistan and India agreed to stop the fire negotiated by the president of the United States Trump.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (FO) expressed concern about the behavior of the Indian army in India illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir (Iiojk) after Pahalgam’s attack. The Indian authorities in July launched a deportation campaign aimed at Muslims, allegedly expelling 1,900 people to Bangladesh, as reported by the Washington Post.

India has maintained approximately 700,000 troops in the valley, which makes it one of the most militarized places on Earth.

“The prolonged detention of the thousands of political workers, dissidents and human rights defenders; prohibition of many political parties of Kashmir and the ongoing campaign to confiscate the properties of Kashmir activists.”

The Turkish president, Recep Tayyip Erdogan, has also requested the resolution of the Kashmir Dispute of decades in accordance with the UN resolutions.

When heading to the 80th Session of the UN General Assembly (UNGA) in New York, he said that dialogue is the only way to follow the problem, emphasizing that the preservation of peace and stability in southern Asia is of the utmost importance.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, are currently present in New York, attending the Unga session. According to diplomatic sources, the prime minister will briefly travel to Washington from New York for a meeting with President Trump.
