The terrorists attacked the right to education in the district of Lakki Marwat, destroying a primary school of girls in Ghazni Khel Tehsil. Fortunately, there were no casualties, although the school building suffered strong damage.
The explosion occurred on Tuesday night in the village of Pahar Khel Paka, where unidentified attackers plant explosives within the Government’s primary school.
The powerful explosion reduced the classrooms to the rubble, which makes the installation unusable and spread fear among local residents. The authorities confirmed that the attack took place at night when the school was closed, avoiding the possible loss of lives.
Contenting the attack, the authorities said that addressing girls schools was part of a broader attempt of terrorists to deprive boys, particularly girls, their constitutional right to education. The security forces cordoned off the area and launched a search operation to track those responsible.
In a separate incident, terrorists set fire to another school in the same town, destroying furniture. However, residents managed to extinguish the fire and save the building from complete destruction. Ghazni Khel police hired the attackers in a shooting, forcing them to flee.
During fire exchange, agent Gul Rehman was injured and moved to the Hospital of the Headquarters of the Tajazai District. The police officer of the Nazir District Khan directed the operation.
The region of Inspector General Bannu, Sajad Khan, praised the police for his courage. “The dire terrorist designs can never succeed,” he promised, emphasizing continuous surveillance to protect educational institutions, lives and property.
Meanwhile, local communities urged the Government to strengthen school security, warning that repeated attacks not only endanger early childhood education, but also threaten the broader social fabric in the region.
