Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif said on Monday that Pakistan and Malaysia had agreed to deepen cooperation in defense, commerce and emerging technologies after what he described as “highly productive” conversations with the counterpart of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim in Putrajaya.
“Pakistan can greatly benefit from Malaysia’s experience in Technology, Ti and Ia,” Shehbaz said at a joint press conference. “We are eager to learn from Malaysia’s experience and follow joint companies and mutually beneficial projects.”
He welcomed Malaysia’s decision to import meat worth $ 200 million of Pakistan and assured that Pakistan would do everything possible to meet the conditions of Malaysia. He also pointed out the growing importance of Malaysia of Pakistani rice and expressed optimism about the expansion of agricultural trade.

The Prime Minister praised the Urdu translation of the script of the book of Anwar Ibrahim, describing it as “a guide frame for sustainability, mutual respect, compassion, innovation, research and development, progress, prosperity and mutual trust.”
He praised Anwar’s “visionary leadership” and reaffirmed that Pakistan, “a blessed nation with immense resources and great minds”, was committed to equipping his youth with modern knowledge and associating with Malaysia for shared prosperity.
The Prime Minister of Malaysia, Anwar Ibrahim, recalling the “historical fraternal relationships” between the two nations, said that economic cooperation had always been fundamental for their ties.
“It is our joint aspiration to even more improve collaboration in all fields,” he said, adding that Malaysia would also facilitate imports of Pakistan’s meat.
He highlighted the potential for cooperation in emerging technologies and praised Pakistan’s position on Palestine, noting that both countries supported peace efforts.
Previously, Prime Minister Shehbaz received a ceremonial guard of honor in the Perdana Putra complex, where he inspected contingents of the Malaysian Armed Forces. Both leaders introduced their delegations before holding individual and delegation level conversations.
The two parties signed comprehension memorandums that cover higher education, tourism, halal certification, anti -corruption cooperation and small and medium enterprises. They also discussed the expansion of ties in commerce, telecommunications, halal industry, investment, energy, infrastructure, digital economy and people people to people.
Prime Minister Shehbaz is accompanied by the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, Ishaq Dar, the Minister of Information Attaullah Tarar and the special assistant Tariq Fatemi during his official three -day visit. He was received upon his arrival in Kuala Lumpur by the Minister of Communications of Malaysia, Fahmi Fadzil and the High Commissioner of Pakistan, Syed Ahsan Raza Shah.

The visit is expected to provide “new impulse” to the relations of Pakistan-Malasia and strengthen cooperation in strategic sectors and focused on the future.
Last year, Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim visited Pakistan, where the Nishan-E-Pakistan was conferred for his contributions to the Brotherhood and Islamic cooperation.
The two countries are also obliged by the closest Economic Association Agreement of Malaysia-Pakistan (MPCEPA), signed in 2007, which promotes the trade of goods and services, regulates investment flows and supports cooperation in intellectual property, medical care, telecommunications, tourism and construction.
