Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Sher Afzal Khan Marwat has expressed frustration over the authorities’ failure to facilitate a meeting between party leaders and jailed PTI founding president Imran Khan.

Speaking outside Adiala Jail, he criticized jail superintendent Abdul Ghafoor Anjum for allegedly intensifying the difficulties faced by Imran Khan and ignoring court orders, Express News reported.

Sher Afzal questioned how demands could be addressed when officials block access to Imran Khan for talks, accusing the government of ineptitude.

He stressed that the government’s response has been unsatisfactory, saying: “If the law doesn’t apply here and it’s martial law, then say so.

But if law and human rights matter, why stop meeting with your political advisors?

Sher Afzal further claimed that the government was stalling meaningful negotiations, arguing that despite its flexibility, it had not been granted any meeting with Imran Khan.

He pointed to meetings held in late November with Imran Khan’s legal team, which were not respected by authorities, suggesting that the official narrative of ongoing talks was misleading.

The PTI leader also reiterated the party’s position on what he called the theft of the electoral mandate, accusing the current government of being a “mafia” formed on the basis of this alleged theft of the mandate.

He demanded that the government respect Imran Khan’s basic rights, including meetings with his political advisors and open dialogue.
