CDA accuses employees of securing jobs with falsified documents, FIA launches investigation
The Capital Development Authority (CDA) has accused 58 employees of securing employment using fake educational certificates. The Anti-Corruption Circle of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Islamabad filed an official case and launched an investigation into the deceptive recruitment practices.
According to the case, the defendants obtained jobs ranging from grade 5 to grade 14 through illegal means, violating the provincial merit quota during the hiring process. They had landed positions as security guards, drivers, elevator operators and tube well operators.
This case marks the latest in a series of recruitment scandals within the CDA, highlighting ongoing concerns about the authority’s internal checks and balances.
In 2017, the CDA took action against five officials accused of submitting falsified matric and higher secondary school certificates. Formal FIRs were registered against the accused.
As part of enforcing its service regulations, the authority dismissed six officials in 2019 after they were found to have false educational testimonies.
The Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) is currently investigating the accused and further developments are expected. The latest case raises significant concerns about CDA’s hiring process and its ability to ensure transparency and fairness in hiring.
