Pakistan will host an international conference on girls’ education in Muslim communities on January 11-12 in Islamabad, attended by more than 150 dignitaries from 44 Muslim and allied countries.
The event, organized by the Ministry of Education of Pakistan, will address the challenges and opportunities in promoting girls’ education around the world.
The conference, titled ‘Girls’ Education in Muslim Communities: Challenges and Opportunities’, aims to foster dialogue, share transformative success stories and find viable solutions to educational challenges.
According to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the summit will also serve as a platform for high-level discussions and collaborations between ministers, ambassadors, academics and representatives of international organizations, including UNESCO, UNICEF and the World Bank.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif will inaugurate the conference and deliver the keynote address, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to promoting girls’ education and gender equality.
The event will conclude with the signing of the Islamabad Declaration, a formal document outlining the Muslim community’s collective commitment to empowering girls through education, paving the way for inclusive and sustainable education reforms.
