Selena Gomez is speaking directly to her fans to clear up current questions about the changes people have noticed in her voice, offering a candid and calm explanation during a recent Instagram Live session.
The 33-year-old singer and actress addressed the issue head-on on Tuesday, December 16, making it clear that there is no dramatic reason behind it.
“There’s no excuse, I really don’t care,” Gomez said during the live broadcast, according to footage recorded by fans.
“I guess what I’m saying is that sometimes things happen. I get weird. [or] Sometimes my throat swells from the inside. That’s all.”

Gomez continued to assure her fans that melasma is common and manageable, adding, “I totally get it. It’s caused by the sun,” while also encouraging her followers to be consistent with their sunscreen.
Melasma is a skin condition that can cause darker spots on the face, often caused by sun exposure or hormonal changes.
