The miniseries combines science fiction, suspense, history and drama. The story follows Jake Epping, a high school English teacher who is given the opportunity to travel back in time through a mysterious portal in a restaurant.
Their mission: prevent the assassination of President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963, one of the most momentous events in United States history.
As Jake integrates into the early 1960s, he takes on a new identity, navigates life in the past, and makes unexpected emotional connections.
However, changing the story never works in his favor and he soon realizes many more complications than he imagined.
