Tiger Woods was arrested in Florida with prescription opioids found in his pocket after the 15-time major winner was involved in a rollover accident on Friday, according to court records.
The five-time Masters winner was arrested on charges of driving under the influence with property damage and refusing to submit to a blood alcohol (BAL) test after authorities said his vehicle collided with another vehicle Friday afternoon while driving under the influence.

During the investigation, Woods explained to officers that he was distracted before the crash.
“Woods stated he was looking at his cell phone and changing the radio station and did not notice the vehicle in front of him slowing down,” deputies noted in the affidavit.
Authorities proceeded to conduct field sobriety tests due to their suspicions. Woods was instructed to remove his glasses and the officer conducting the tests stated that his eyes appeared to be “bloodshot and glassy” and “extremely dilated.”

Woods was arrested and during a search, authorities found “two white pills inside Woods’ left pants pocket.” According to the arrest affidavit, the pills were later identified as hydrocodone, an opioid prescribed for pain relief.
Woods previously told police before field sobriety tests that he underwent seven back surgeries and “more than 20 surgeries on his leg.” He told authorities he “takes some” prescription medications.
In jail, Woods underwent a breathalyzer, where he returned results of 0.00 on both samples. He refused to submit to a urine test, which resulted in another charge.

Friday’s arrest marked Woods’ second DUI arrest in the last decade. In 2017, he was arrested, also on Jupiter Island, after taking prescribed medication and falling asleep behind the wheel of a moving car at 3 in the morning.
In 2021, he suffered an accident that caused serious leg injuries that kept him off the golf course throughout the year.
