Pakistan on Thursday strongly condemned Israeli aggression against Lebanon, citing the loss of innocent lives and widespread destruction of infrastructure, according to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MoFA).

“Israeli actions undermine international efforts to establish peace and stability in the region and constitute a flagrant violation of international law and fundamental humanitarian principles,” the statement said.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs called on the international community to take urgent and concrete measures to end the aggression.

He also reiterated Pakistan’s unwavering solidarity with the government and people of Lebanon during this difficult time, adding: “Pakistan supports the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Lebanon, as well as its peace and stability.”

Meanwhile, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar and Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan during a telephone conversation expressed their deep concern over violations of the ceasefire in Lebanon and emphasized the urgent need to respect and fully implement the ceasefire to ensure lasting peace and stability.

The DPM/FM appreciated Saudi Arabia’s continued support for Pakistan’s efforts to achieve lasting peace. They agreed to remain in close contact.

On Wednesday, Iran sounded the alarm over violations of its temporary ceasefire with the United States following Israeli attacks on Lebanon and stopped the flow of oil in the Strait of Hormuz.

Within hours of the Pakistan-brokered ceasefire deal, Iran’s Revolutionary Guard said Tehran was preparing a strong retaliation against the Israeli regime in response to Israel’s violation of the ceasefire in Lebanon.

The warning followed reports of Al Jazeeraciting Lebanon’s Ministry of Health, that at least 89 people were killed and more than 700 injured in Israeli attacks across the country that same day.

Israel carried out its most intense attacks on Lebanon since the conflict with Hezbollah erupted last month, even as the Iran-aligned group halted attacks on northern Israel and Israeli troops in Lebanon under the two-week ceasefire between the United States and Iran.
