Trade activities in the transit corridor between Pakistan and Iran have formally started and the first export consignment was sent from Pakistan.
Director of Transit Trade Customs, Sanaullah Abro, said The express PAkGazette that the inaugural shipment, which included frozen meat, was transported in refrigerated trucks to Tashkent, Uzbekistan. He said that under the corridor, shipments from Pakistan would be routed through Gwadar and Iran to Central Asian states.
He added that the operationalization of the corridor would not only accelerate Pakistan’s economic growth but also increase traffic at the country’s ports.
