Three ‘Indian spies’ who worked in Pakistan convicted


Individuals confess to having lured others through social networks with monetary offers to access confidential information

Three Indian spies were convicted under the Official Secrets Act after being arrested by security forces for their involvement in India’s Research and Analysis Wing (RAW).

The detainees confessed that they were lured through certain social media platforms with offers of money and relationships with women in exchange for access to confidential information.

Payments were allegedly made to the suspects through Easypaisa, cryptocurrency wallets and bank accounts.

During the investigation, the suspects admitted to having continued contact with individuals, including women, believed to be associated with RAW through social media channels.

Sources further claimed that cases were registered against the accused under the Official Secrets Act. After the judicial process, the courts handed down a sentence.

In November last year, a Pakistani fisherman allegedly recruited by Indian intelligence to carry out espionage activities in the country was arrested.

Information Minister Atta Tarar said in a statement that a Pakistani fisherman named Ejaz Mallah was detained by the Pakistani police agency after being forced by Indian intelligence to work for them.

In October 2025, an Indian national, Usman, was also sentenced to 20 years in prison in Pakistan on espionage and terrorism charges. Usman was under surveillance for several months before his arrest. Intelligence reports indicated his involvement in espionage and terrorist activities aimed at destabilizing the province.

This conviction came in the context of earlier incidents of Indian espionage in Pakistan. In March 2016, Pakistani intelligence agencies arrested Indian spy Kulbhushan Jadhav, marking a major milestone in the fight against terrorism and exposing India’s deep involvement in state-sponsored subversion.

Jadhav, a serving officer of the Indian intelligence agency RAW, was detained in Balochistan while actively planning terrorist operations. It was the first case in which a serving intelligence officer from one country was captured in another for orchestrating terrorist activities.
