It’s surreal to think that there are only 12 days left until April 2026. But in reality, are we already almost a third of the way through the year?
If, like me, this has given you a small but not insignificant existential crisis, you might want to distract yourself with something to watch on Netflix. And, with a wide variety of new movies and TV shows coming to the streaming giant in the last full week of April 2026, you’ll soon be able to do just that.
Article continues below.
Fun AF with Kevin Hart (April 20)
Look
A Netflix comedy competition, Fun AF with Kevin Hart follows the titular comedian and actor as he scours the United States in search of the stand-up circuit’s next star.
With the help of a host of other well-known names, including Keegan-Michael Key, Nikki Glaser and Tom Segura, Hart and her fellow judges determine which contestants will move on to the next stage of the competition and offer a behind-the-scenes look at their own journeys to the top of the industry.
The first four episodes will arrive on Netflix on April 20, with four more arriving a week later. Then, on May 4 and 5, Netflix will broadcast the semi-finals and final live, and viewers are expected to have the opportunity to vote who will win the reality show through Netflix’s newly introduced live voting feature.
This is a gardening show (April 22)
Look
Were you a fan of Zach Galifianakis? between two ferns Internet comedy series? And/or you enjoy Clarkson Farm on PrimeVideo? If you answered “yes” to one or both of these questions, I’m sure you’ll be entertained by This is a gardening show.
Led by Galifianakis, the docuseries follows the comedic actor as he approaches the art of green thumb with, according to Netflix, “curiosity and self-effacing humor.”
This is a gardening show It’s not a parody like between two fernsnor does it sound as abrasive or exaggerated as Clarkson Farm. However, as a fan of Galifianakis’ work and the son of parents who love gardening, I’m willing to give this one a chance. Who knows, maybe I’ll learn a thing or two about, you know, how to not kill every plant I have.
Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 (April 23)
Look
The first stranger things project that will emerge after the main show’s divisive fifth and final season, Stories from 85 will attempt to draw fans back in and introduce new audiences to its universe in PG animated form.
Set between the second and third seasons of its parent show, Stranger Things: Tales from ’85 reunites us with Eleven, Mike and company. as they investigate a new sci-fi supernatural threat to their hometown of Hawkins. Joining the party is newcomer Nikki Baxter, who has been described as the POV character of the series for those who haven’t seen a single minute of the popular main show.
I will be covering Stories from 85 in more detail in the lead-up to its release, so keep your eyes peeled for TechRadar for more information in the coming days. In the meantime, find out what the showrunner had to say about why the main show’s cast didn’t return to voice their characters in Stories from 85.
Apex (April 24)
Look
Charlize Theron and Taron Egerton team up (or rather, face off) in this survival action thriller that will make you think twice before a) venturing into the Australian wilderness alone and b) meeting new people.
Apex sees Theron play Sasha, a climber who takes a solo trip to Australia to escape a recent and devastating loss. However, she soon finds herself pursued by the enigmatic and emotionally intense character of Egerton. Kick off a suspenseful game of cat and mouse as Sasha tries to outwit her predatory enemy.
Compared to previous years, Netflix has significantly reduced its movie production in 2026, which gives me hope that it will be finally starting to privilege quality over quantity. Even if this film ends up being another addition to the streamer’s line of mid-tier films, Theron always delivers a compelling performance and, with Egerton looking like he’s going to chew the scenery every time he appears, Apex It should be, at the very least, a mildly fascinating film.
