Markets leave April with a plethora of macroeconomic events to watch. Four major central banks, the Bank of Japan, the US Federal Reserve, the European Central Bank and the Bank of England, set their interest rate policy this week.
Above is a host of US data including first quarter GDP and March PCE inflation along with earnings from Visa, Mastercard, Robinhood and some of the largest tech companies, the results of which could make or break the current tone.
Markus Levin, co-founder of XYO, told CoinDesk that bitcoin is entering the week “with strong momentum around the $78,000 level, and while the Federal Reserve is expected to keep rates unchanged, persistent inflation could reinforce a hawkish tone and we could see Bitcoin retreat back to the $72,000 to $74,000 range once again in the near term.”
Earnings from the tech giants, Levin added, could also be a crucial indicator “to reinforce or challenge the current trajectory given their enormous influence on stock markets, while developments around the US-Iran talks will guide sentiment through oil and dollar movements.”
