King Charles talks about the ‘horrible’ side effects of chemotherapy

King Charles, who always put on a brave face despite his battle with cancer, has commented on the side effects of chemotherapy, leaving royal fans excited.

On Monday, the monarch visited Guy’s Cancer Center to celebrate the hospital’s 300th anniversary during his own health problems.

During the visit, he learned about important cancer research projects at Guy’s Hospital and King’s College London.

Charles inspected the robotic technology that assists in medical procedures.

But the heartfelt interactions with cancer patients became the highlight of the event.

He spoke with patients while touring Chemotherapy Village.

Among them was Raymond Burgees, who spoke about how chemotherapy leaves a bad taste in the mouth.

According to Royal Central, the King responded: “It’s a horrible metallic taste. Doesn’t exactly help with eating.”

For the uninitiated, Buckingham Palace announced in 2024 that King Charles had been diagnosed with an undisclosed form of cancer.

In December 2025, the monarch shared that the regularity of his treatment will be reduced, hinting that his health is heading in a positive direction.

The King “thanks to early diagnosis, effective intervention and compliance with doctors’ prescriptions, in the new year my own cancer treatment schedule will be able to be reduced.”

However, despite better treatment underway, tensions between Andrew and Harry have reportedly taken a toll on the monarch’s health.
