Beatles legend Paul McCartney has made an explosive statement about influencer culture, insisting that “people who don’t look like they have talent are incredibly famous.”
The 83-year-old music legend has been part of the entertainment industry for six decades and is very familiar with the attitudes and approaches of different generations entering and leaving the music world.
Now, in a new interview, Paul has spoken about how he feels the celebrity world has changed, particularly with the rise of social media.
speaking in The rest is entertainment On the podcast, hosts Marina Hyde and Richard Osman asked the star a question about what baffles him most about the 21st century.
He said: “I think a lot of this influencer stuff, I just don’t understand it, because I’m not from that generation.”
But I see it, you can’t help it. My wife looks at Instagram and shows me something, and then one of those pops up.
“I think it’s funny, and I guess it’s always happened, but people who don’t seem to have any special talent are incredibly famous. Billions of views and views.
“You have to be careful when talking about that, because it sounds very old-fashioned.” And I am.
Last month, the first song on Paul’s album, The Dungeon Lane Boys was released, called Days we left behind and is believed to be fully released in May.
