Bahraini commander praises role of armed forces in promoting regional peace and stability in meeting with CDF Munir


ISPR says both sides discuss matters of mutual interest, regional security and defense cooperation.

Bahrain National Guard Commander General Shaikh Mohammad Bin Isa on Tuesday appreciated Pakistan Army’s role in promoting regional peace and stability during a meeting with Chief of Defense Forces (CDF) and Chief of Army Staff (COAS) Field Marshal Asim Munir.

According to Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Bahrain national guard chief visited CDF Munir at the General Headquarters (GHQ) in Rawalpindi, where the two sides discussed matters of mutual interest, the regional security environment and avenues to enhance bilateral defense and security cooperation.

“Both dignitaries expressed satisfaction over the long-standing fraternal relations between Pakistan and Bahrain and underlined the importance of further strengthening military-to-military collaboration,” the ISPR said.

The Bahrain National Guard chief also separately called on Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf and Chief of Air Staff Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu.

“At the Naval Headquarters, the meeting focused on bilateral defense collaboration and regional security dynamics. The chief of Bahrain’s national guard praised the constructive role of the Pakistan Navy in advancing cooperative maritime security across the region, expressing appreciation for its role as a stabilizer of regional maritime security,” the ISPR said.

The statement added that during the meeting at Air Headquarters, the air chief highlighted modernization efforts of Pakistan Air Force including capability enhancement, infrastructure development, indigenization and advanced training reforms.

“Discussions focused on emerging defense technologies such as drones, artificial intelligence, autonomous systems, advanced sensors and digital innovation, as well as evolving air defense challenges and integrated defense architectures,” he added.

According to the ISPR, the Bahraini commander appreciated the professionalism and operational preparedness of Pakistan’s armed forces.

“He also praised the modernization initiatives and local capabilities of Pakistan’s armed forces, expressing interest in greater cooperation in training, emerging technologies and capacity-building initiatives,” the statement said.

The ISPR said the visit reflected the strong and long-standing defense partnership between Pakistan and Bahrain and was expected to further advance bilateral military cooperation for the mutual benefit of both brotherly nations.

Early in the morning, Commander-in-Chief of the Lebanese Armed Forces, General Rodolphe Haykal, visited CDF Munir at Headquarters, where the two discussed regional security, defense cooperation and prospects for strengthening bilateral military ties.

According to the ISPR, the visiting dignitary was presented with a guard of honor by an elegantly dressed Tri Services contingent upon his arrival at the Headquarters.

“During the meeting, both dignitaries exchanged views on issues of mutual interest, the evolution of the regional security environment, defense cooperation and prospects for improving bilateral military relations,” the statement added.

ISPR said the discussions focused on strengthening professional interactions, training cooperation and institutional linkages between the armed forces of the two countries.
