Freddy, the German soccer fan who has gone viral by live-tweeting his fairytale experience in the United States, has another important visit on his agenda.
Ambassador Nick Adams, special presidential envoy for the United States, tourism, exceptionalism and values in the Trump administration, confirmed to Pak Gazette Digital that Freddy has been invited to the White House.
Adams said he learned about Freddy early in his trip to the United States and immediately became a “big fan.” Adams called Freddy’s trip to the United States “a fabulous thing for our country.”

“Freddy is one of hundreds of thousands of visitors who come to the United States and experience the incredible hospitality and generosity of the American people,” Adams told Pak Gazette Digital in a recent phone interview.
“There’s no place like America. We’re the biggest, loudest, most exciting destination in the world. And things like unlimited chips and salsa, Buc-ee’s, Bass Pro Shops, Route 44s at Sonic delivered by young men and women on roller skates right to your car door. These are all experiences and opportunities that you can’t get anywhere else. We’re one country, but really the 50 states are like 50 different countries.”
Adams said he knew he had to reach out when Freddy declared his love for country music star Ella Langley.
“I think it was Ella Langley’s statement that he was a big fan of Ella Langley. So was I. And I thought this is exactly the type of person that is brought to America. What a great ambassador for our country. What a great person to represent what America is really like,” Adams said.

Freddy was invited to the Langley concert on Thursday night and was able to meet her. Visiting Langley was one of the many surreal experiences the German soccer fan had during his trip to the United States.
The German football fan and his two friends took tours of the New Orleans Saints and New Orleans Pelicans facilities, were hosted in a hotel by Houston Texans great JJ Watt, took a tour of LSU and Tiger Stadium, hung out with the Houston Police Department, met with the mayor of Houston and took a tour of the International Space Station with NASA.
Adams, who has a family that is German and speaks the language fluently, said he was able to connect with Freddy and invite him on a tour of the State Department, the White House and the opportunity to see the “most beautiful capital in the world” in Washington, DC. Adams said it was important to recognize Freddy as someone who is not from the United States but loves the country anyway.
“I think it’s really important that we recognize people who really love and appreciate our country and who are not Americans. People who really come here and have a great affection for the American people and the American way of life, and all the things that make us so unique and exceptional,” Adams said.
“Americans are the most hospitable people and as a tourism ambassador, minister of tourism of the United States, it is up to me to exemplify that same hospitality by extending an invitation to Freddy to come and have an unforgettable, once-in-a-lifetime experience to see up close and personal inside the White House.”

Adams said he has not yet spoken to President Donald Trump about Freddy, but knows the German fan will be “very welcome.”
“I haven’t had a chance to talk to the president about this yet, but the president is generally aware of a lot of what’s going on. I can assure you of that. I think Freddy will be very welcome.”
Freddy is one of the many fans who are having an incredible first experience in the United States through their trip to the World Cup. Adams is delighted that the world now has an unfiltered view of what foreigners think of America.
“No one puts on a show like the United States, and no one is as friendly, welcoming and hospitable as the American people. I am so happy that the vilification of America and the American people by many international media outlets and by people with a vested interest in attacking America who are envious of us, is now through social media, which is a direct, unfiltered view of what people really think,” Adams said.
“We’re getting the real story and the real feelings of everyday people around the world about America and the American people.”

Adams called American hospitality the “gold standard of the industry” and said the World Cup has helped dispel many notions about the country.
“That American hospitality is the gold standard of the industry. That’s instead of hearing through fake news narratives about how terrible the United States is, how unsafe it is and how expensive it is, and how inhospitable and unwelcoming Americans are to people from other countries. We always knew that was absolute nonsense. And now we have very solid proof and evidence from these Japanese tourists, from these German tourists, from people from all countries who have come here to experience the World Cup,” he said Adams.
“We have no rival. We are incomparable. We have no parallel in landscapes and offerings. Whatever you like, whatever you want, the United States has it.”
