British delegation in Pakistan will review air security protocols

A British delegation arrived in Pakistan to evaluate the country’s aviation security standards, said Express News on Monday.

The Delegation of the United Kingdom Department of Transportation and the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) will review the security standards of the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (PCAA).

This evaluation is a crucial step towards the resumption of flight operations between Pakistan and the United Kingdom by Pakistani airlines. The general director of the PCAA, Nadir Shafi Dar, and his team of experts will host the delegation.

During the visit, several high -level meetings will be held between both parties, focused on air security protocols, documentation review and operational procedures.

The British delegation will also visit airlines to review its compliance with international standards. In recent months, CAA officials have participated in a series of technical conversations with the United Kingdom.

CAA officials are optimistic about the positive results of the British delegation visit.

Previously, Nadir Shafi Dar, general director of the PCAA, who will direct the local team during the audit, said: “We are ready to inform British officials.” The audit will run from January 27 to February 6, 2025.

Previously, PIA began international flight operations from the New Gwadar International Airport, and the inaugural flight took off towards Mascate, the capital of Oman, on Friday.

A PIA spokesman said that the inaugural flight, PK-197, transported 39 passengers.

High PIA officials fired them at the airport. According to the spokesman, the national airline will operate a weekly flight on the Gwadar-Muscat route.
