- The limited edition pays headphones in collaboration with Brain Dead
- Even more Limited Edition 4 Wireless Study Monitors 4
- Headphones cost $ 70 / £ 60; The speakers cost $ 400 / £ 330
Looking at the image above, I might think that they have thrown us into a delorean and taken to a club of the 80s with science fiction theme. But these headphones are as contemporary as the headphones.
The headphones are a new limited edition version of the Aiaiai track headphones, made in collaboration with Creative Fashion Brand Brain Dead, a firm with which Aiaiai has previously worked, with its collaboration in minutes. And there is a matching speaker, a “highly limited edition” of the Aiaiai Unit-4 studio monitor.
What does this creative collaboration offer?
As with many Brand X brand teams, these are existing products given an image change. And that is not bad. While the headphones of the tracks may resemble the orange horrors that come with the players of Cassette Walkman from the early 80s, they will not sound like them: their 40 mm pilots have been praised by their surprisingly bold bass.
It is the same story with the Unit-4, which has been praised by audio experts: they are excellent close field study monitors whose low-delayed wireless capacity makes them stand out among the crowd (this is a species for Aiaiai, which also also Factory DJ headphones of low wireless delay).
The collaboration intended to “highlight the rich musical culture of Los Angeles”, and the launch event last weekend gave all its profits to the Fire Fund in California. There is also a compilation tape so that the fastest people contribute to the cause.
The Versions of Dead Brain Dead of the track headphones and the UNIT-4 speaker will be available in Aiaiai, Brain Dead and retailers selected from January 28. The tracks are $ 70 / £ 60 / around AU $ 111 and unit 4 cost $ 400 / $ 330 / About AU $ 635.
