The owner of the Dallas Cowboys, Jerry Jones, was sitting right next to Brian Schottenheimer, his new hiring of chief coaches, on Monday when he said what many fans and several former students of the team were thinking when the news occurred.
This hiring is a great risk.
Schottenheimer was presented as the next coach of the cowboys after Jones’s decision not to sign Mike McCarthy, who had Schottenheimer as his offensive coordinator last season. The hiring, as well as the process that Jones and the organization managed to do so, has been criticized by fans and experts equally.

Although Schottenheimer was in his right, Jones responded to those critics on Monday.
“I have my proverbial A, I kicked on the need for people in my comfort zone,” Jones told journalists, through the New York Post. “Without this being about me in some way, if you don’t think I can’t operate outside my comfort zone, you’re so wrong that it is incredible.
“This is a risk as great as it can run. A risk as great as you can take. Without experience in the chief coach.”

There is not much confidence vote of that appointment during what is generally an optimistic perspective of a new training chapter for a franchise.
But the tone changed Jones when he discussed Schottenheimer, who has a lot of experience in Coaching, even if he has not yet directed his own program. He began his career as RAMS in 1997, and has worked through several organizations, including the offensive coordinators service for the Rams, the New York Jets, the Seattle Seahawks and the University of Georgia. He is also the son of the famous NFL chief coach Marty Schottenheimer.
Jones told the youngest family tree in Schottenheimer, while arguing his qualifications.
“We know what osmosis is and we know what Schotty grew,” Jones explained, according to NFL.com. “Frankly, from Schotty’s point of view, those crossed X hair. Schotty could never have been in our mirror, our point of view, if it hadn’t joined us to be with Mike as a consultant three years ago …. .. I’ve sat down in a handful of meetings with Schotty. [defensive coordinator Mike] Zimmer. … I have seen it bite his lip sometimes when I did not necessarily agree with that direction. But he bit his lip, since his dad would have told him to bit your lip.
“You go to the innumerable number of coaches with whom Schotty has served in the staff and has been present. The innumerable players. How often do you have someone who has 25 years of work through the human relationship?” Jones added.
It is said that Schottenheimer has a great relationship with the field marshal of the Cowboys franchise, Dak Prescott, which will be critical to make this work after McCarthy. Prescott was one that said towards the end of the season, since it was rehabilitating an surgically repaired ischiotibial, which would defend McCarthy returning as a chief coach.
Schottenheimer has the keys to the “United States team” now, and he knows how big it is a responsibility that is taking this hungry team of the Super Bowl to the playoffs.
But now he knows that his owner believes what has been published on social networks: he is a risky employee. It depends on Schottenheimer to demonstrate that the risk was worth the reward.
