- Changes have been seen in the Google Sound application
- Pixels owners will soon be able to take more control over haptic
- The update could come along with the Android 16 update
The iPhones currently beat the Android devices in the way they allow them to establish call tones and specific vibrations for specific contacts on their phone, although it seems that Google has plans to reach some of this functionality in the best pixels phones.
As seen by Tipster Nail Sadykov (through Android Authority), an upcoming version of the Google Sound application allows you to choose vibrations in the same way that you can choose call tones through the Sound and vibration Configuration menu.
It is not the specific customization of contact available on iOS, but it is another step closer. There are 12 vibration patterns to choose from their applications and alerts, including Swoop, Snare, Heartbeat, Swirl, Buzz and Bumps.
Being able to take more control over vibration alerts is undoubtedly an update welcome: it means that it can increase or decrease the strength of the hum that your phone is doing, depending on your personal preference.
Incorporated updates
Keep in mind that the Google Sound application is really integrated into the Pixel software: it is not something that you can download and install separately. I should be able to find it from the configuration playing Applications> See all applications.
When you select sounds, you should see the version number at the bottom of the screen. The current version at the time of writing is 3.1, while the updates of vibration customizations have been seen in version 3.2.
Exactly when Google plans to take the update to the phones remains to be seen: with Android 16 now in the beta phase, we may not get these options until Android 16 is officially launched in the coming months.
Your options will vary if you are using a non -pixel device, depending on the characteristics that the manufacturer of your phone has decided to add. In the case of Samsung Galaxy phones, for example, you can use the Samsung sound assistant application.
