Islamabad:
Exploiting the alleged misuse of tax agency and the luxurious car purchases, Senator Faisal Vawda claimed that the Federal Income Board (FBR) has led to raids unprecedented to certain motion manufacturers to hide the real scandal.
Speaking in the Senate on Wednesday, Vawda criticized the actions of the FBR, saying that not only raids were carried out, but also the raid orders were issued.
“Did drugs or weapons found there? Were people trafficking in people or anti-pakistan activities were taking place?” He questioned.
In addition, he claimed that once the documents on these raids reached their power, efforts were made to cover up the matter by performing additional raids elsewhere.
Expressing frustration for practice, he said that this was the reason why people refrain from facing such activities, but become part of the mafia. “They are ‘untouchable’, they carry out raids, come and create false cases.”
In addition, he said that FBR, despite his responsibility to generate income, failed to meet his objective of RS384 billion in taxes. He pointed out that the cabinet approved a summary that included strong bonds for FBR employees, which extends from four bonds for category one personnel to two bonds for category three, but the cabinet ignored this section.
“The implementation of this summary and the distribution of bonuses will soon begin, and the national treasure will be looted through these bonds,” Vawda warned.
